Making Chapaguri from the movie 'Parasite'

Chapaguri
If you've watched the Oscar-winning movie 'Parasite', you might have noticed a dish called chapaguri (or jjapaguri) that the rich family enjoys with expensive beef. Chapaguri is a combination of two popular instant noodles in Korea: chapagetti and neoguri. Chapagetti is a black bean sauce noodle, while neoguri is a spicy seafood noodle soup. Together, they create a delicious and easy dish that can be upgraded with any meat or vegetable you like.

In this blog post, I'll show you how to make chapaguri with steak, just like in the movie. You'll need:

- 1 packet of chapagetti

- 1 packet of neoguri

- 200 grams of sirloin steak (or any tender cut of beef)

- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

- Salt and pepper to taste

- 2 cups of water

Chapaguri
Step 1: Cook the steak

Season the steak with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat a skillet over high heat and add the oil. When the oil is hot, add the steak and cook for about 4 minutes per side, or until your desired doneness. Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 10 minutes. Then, slice it thinly against the grain.

Step 2: Cook the noodles

In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Add the noodles from both packets and cook for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain the noodles, reserving about 1/4 cup of the cooking water.

Step 3: Make the sauce

In a small bowl, mix the seasoning packets from both noodles with the reserved cooking water. Stir well until dissolved.

Step 4: Assemble the dish

Return the noodles to the pot and add the sauce. Toss well to coat. Transfer to a large serving plate or bowl and top with the steak slices. Enjoy your chapaguri with steak!

This dish is perfect for a quick and satisfying meal that will make you feel like you're in a movie. You can also customize it with other ingredients, such as mushrooms, onions, cheese, or eggs. Have fun experimenting with different flavors and combinations!
